I'm slapped in the face with consciousness every time I fade away
why am I still here, I should have died last night anyway
critical condition, and I'm puttin up no resistence
I can feel it all through my body, the pain of losin existence.
Reality can be so cruel, LORD let the pain end
I'm ready to skip on out of this life so the next one can begin
but I haven't been that great, I hope that I wont burn
flames lickin my feet, all because my faith wasn't that firm
but I've been workin on that, and I've always just believed
I just didn't act right, I'm sure that satan was relieved.
I can feel the sharp pain of memories stabbin inside my chest
I need rest, but with each breath comes the numbness of inevidable death.
Death himself is at my door, and my life's within his grasp
as he comes closer, my heart pace quickens and I begin to gasp
he clamps on my wrist, and what's blurry becomes clear
he`s trying to take me away, but the doctors are keepin me here.
PLEASE!!leave me alone, human and spirits alike
I just wanna lay here in peace, and reflect back on my life
back to my childhood, my first time holdin a gun
to feel the power in my hands that'll make the strongest men run
I could get whateva I wanted by pointin that thing at you
if you didn't meet my demands, then I'd throw some bullets at you.
I was thinkin I was tough, but the gun'll do that to you
the payback can be rough, when they send some slugs back through you.
When things finally cought up, I'll admit that I wasn't ready
they was confident he'd get me, calmly holdin the gun steady
he wanted to prolong my fate,so he didn't shoot to kill
and plague my body with injuries that were sure to never heal
but I guess the bullet missed, so take a look at me now
it hit my spine, paralysis forced me to throw in the towel
but that`s not the end, internal bleeding now has me layin here dyin
I'm hit daily with the blows of my family sittin around me cryin...
........
you see, death is not the problem, the problem is passin away slow
cause for a couple of weeks, I've had my bags packed and I've been ready to go
